The Way I Am Now Book Review
The Way I Am Now
Author: Amber Smith
Genre: Fiction
Overview:
This review is long overdue but in the book “The Way I Am Now” it shows main character Eden growing from the wreckage like the first tree planted on Ground Zero. This book had me in tears because I knew the predicaments Eden found herself in, loving someone so much but knowing you’re not ready but still going into the relationship anyways. I loved how the book showed every single win that Eden had in her life, first big one being quitting her unhealthy habits then cutting off Stephen (boy irked my soul). The biggest win for Eden was in Part Four, pg.314 (in the PDF version I read). In my opinion it was the best chapter of the book and it was the chapter I yelled and cheered the loudest in. It felt like a win for me as well, Eden taking back her power in the trial from the monster who stole from her (something not even I was able to do). Honestly if I were to describe this book in one word it’d be beautiful, truly author Amber Smith does such an amazing job with her words to portray the struggle and growth Eden went through in this book. Eden shows readers that things do get better, even if it takes a long while, things always get better eventually, just pull through. I know there’s gonna be brighter days ahead. Another thing I loved was seeing Josh level up from a side character to a Main Character him being Eden's significant other and I also loved seeing things from Josh's perspective as well. I honestly don't feel ready to let Eden go as I move onto my next books so I’m probably gonna go and re-read both books. I love these books so much, I feel there should be a third book called “The Way I Want To Be” exploring more into her adulthood and how Eden overcomes the results of the trial (whether Kevin is charged and sentenced or not). I would love to see Eden flourish some more in college and see her get back a piece of her old self through her Clarinet.
lil authors note:
Please author Amber Smith, write a third book to the book series !
